Iga, how are you so organised? - One of my friends asked me after having a peak into my colour coded calendar. The truth is that most of the time I am quite organised. I also have days when I forget about important appointment, or just stay all day in my pyjama doing nothing because I cannot motivate myself. Not the best version of my look, I must admit.
There is a few things that are quite easy to introduce but really improved my time management to reduce Oops I've forgotten moments.
What do I do?
One Minute Rule
Quick email confirming appointment? Washing tea cup? Putting away gym clothes after exercising? If task takes only a minute I am trying to do it straight away. It is always more motivating for me to do quickly tasks and know that there is not so much to do rather than avoid chores to build up.
I am quite forgetful therefore I write down and prioritise tasks for the next day night before. Try and do it! I always manage to find a cheeky gaming session in between when I know what I have to do, what I have already done, and how much time I still have.
Say Goodbye to Time Wasters
My phone is always on silent unless I am expecting a phone call. You can imagine how irritating it can be for my friends and family trying to organise lunch last minute. I am also not a fan of notifications from social media popping constantly on my phone screen. It distracts me and takes away focus from the task. They just have to be off.
Stick to Task and Finish It
Finish what you started and then move on to next task. The feeling of completing task and having less to do is very motivating!
Work on creating routine of cleaning after yourself straight away. Cleaning one mug and a plate after delicious apple pie is way quicker than cleaning all dishes at the end of a day.
