I used to have a huge selection of make up products, to be precise two big boxes, and I was not aware what exactly I have. As a teenager I did not like to throw away anything 'just in case'. Three different primers that make my face very dry? Ten times more eye shadows in crazy yet gorgeous colours, that I used once? Almost not used creams that remember Christmas two years ago? You could find little wastes like this in my make up boxes. Now I just ask myself: What is the point to have make up that I will use only once and then it will clutter the space? I threw away boxes, bought one proper, white make up bag and started looking for products that work for me well.
Simplicity is something that helps me to keep things e.g. expiry dates under control. To keep it this way:
Buy products that you need and when you need them. 3 for 2 is a great deal but only if I really need products. I do not store them for later.
Use what you already have and buy new one when you finished product at home.
I do not buy make up products for special occasions. Big factor for me is if product does what was promised when I purchased it. If it says brighter and less tired looking skin, I do want to see brighter and less tired skin when I do my daily or 'night out' make up. Eye shadows that are not lasting for longer than five hours? Not for me. At the end of the day, would you pay a full price for a car and then be happy when you receive only wheels? I would be seriously unimpressed.
What products are in your make up bag?
