What is in my travel make up bag?

Take a look at my travel make up bag with my favourite products that travel with me around the world.

What does Attractive packaging that has already survived a few falls. I do not contour my face but I cannot think of a better bronzer to add a bit of glow to the foundation. Half moon brush gets the job done so I do not have to carry an extra brush with me - perfect space saver in travel make up bag. I still have another few months to finish this product but so far so good. I might go for a slightly lighter shade to the one I picked from the duty free shop.

I love the first Naked big version way better than I do the Naked 2 Basics but what I do not like is how much space it takes in my travel make up bag. Therefore Naked 2 Basics is my ‘go to’ when I desperately try to save luggage space. I really like the simple, minimalistic, matte look I can achieve with this product. Before I bought my Brow Wizz I would also use it to darken my eyebrows. The one thing which started to be a big no no for me was the lack of a mini brush with the product and discussable pigmentation intensity of shades.

Another of my long term make up friends that not once, not twice has hidden the signs of tiredness and dark circles after a long night of studying or partying. It creates the happy, healthy radiance on my face while inside I feel like looking for the first available bed and duvet to hide under. Because I do not like to carry too many products when I travel it also acts for me as a highlighter for brow bones, and ‘help me now and hide this THING!’ when eye shadow is being naughty and falls awkwardly on my cheek.

Rosy Glow gives my cheeks a natural, fresh, healthy look. I only use a very small amount of the product as it blends really naturally with my complexion. On photos it looks very well without being too obvious and visible. It is just a touch but it changes and lifts the whole make up creating a perfect look.

This is easily one of the make up pieces that I buy over and over again. I have been loyal to Double Wear Stay-in-Place foundation for almost ten years. We met by accident in my friend’s bathroom, where I had a chance to see its covering magic. This foundation does what it says stays fresh, looks natural, and gives a flawless look. I do not use this foundation every day because I like to give my face a chance to breath and recover but this is the foundation I use on every single photo, that is if I wear any foundation. Despite the activity I might be doing it always stays in place and never unpleasantly surprises me.

The disadvantage for traveling is its glass bottle that presents itself so elegantly on a dressing table. More practical would be making a bottle from something that reduces the chance of an accident in a suitcase. However I do have a trick up my sleeve to deal with this. Before deciding what shade of foundation is best for you Estee Lauder’s assistants e.g. in Debenhams, are more than happy to give you a small plastic bottle for you to test the product for the next couple of days. If you travel as much as I do it is useful to keep the sample bottle and pour a bit of your full sized product into it. This foundation requires a really good skin regime because of its heaviness it can dry out more sensitive parts.

After applying cream I start off my make up with a silky Photo Finish Foundation Primer from Smashbox. This lightweight primer gives my face a very smooth feel and helps my foundation to stay in place for longer. This primer does the job, is long lasting as only a pea size amount is needed, but I am unsure if it is ‘The One’. It is quite pricey, I cannot see any other effects than smoothness, and I am curious if I can find a cheaper substitute.

Packaging is very convenient, especially for long haul flights, as it fits into the small plastic bags without making them too bulky to close.

This is a fairly new product in my travel make up bag because I have only had it since May. However I cannot imagine my make up without subtle darkening of my eyebrows. The spooley brush helps to smudge the pencil and create effortless and natural look. Plus it weights nothing so it does not add extra weight or volume to my luggage.

This little miracle in modest black packaging has been with me for over a year now. I was first introduced to this vibrating mascara from Lancome during my stay in the US. It was love from the first application! Perfect separation plus it lengthens my eyelashes the best from all available mascaras on the market. I did try over hundred. I used to change mascaras very often with my search for the ONE and ONLY! And here it is, as far as I know it is still unavailable in the UK, the mascara that I beg every friend who happens to travel to US to get for me. So if you are travelling to US and want to be a star please let me know!

    1. I have to say that I do quite like this one. I might go for a bit different shade next time as the one I picked seem to be a bit too light.

  2. I don't think I've read about that Lancome mascara on any beauty blogs before and I read a heck ton! I wonder if it's available in Canada, will need to check it out.

  4. I always have my eyebrow pencil from Nature Republic, Maybelline Mascara, Mac lipstick and my Colourpop lippies when I'm on the go. I don't think I can bring just one lipstick though! Haha!

    1. I have a few things that I do not carry around with me. Red lipstick is most of the time somewhere near by me. It gives a nice effect on photos.

    1. Double Wear is quite heavy. I am not using it everyday. I can imagine my skin would not benefit from that. :)
