It is not a secret that I love finding hidden gems, especially if they are a local businesses. For some reason my evening walks were taking me into other part of Aberdeen so Mad Penguin was hiding away from me for a few months.
If you know what Hygge is I can tell you that this is that kind of place to have a hygge moment with a hot cup of artisan coffee in your hand.

We started our evening with a latte with rose syroup, mint hot chocolate and winter chai latte. Next time I am around I will definitely try Hazelnut Mocha. How ironic is that as one of the biggest nuts' fan I am also allergic to them? Don't worry it's only a rash!
For slightly bigger hunger there are treats just waiting to land on your plate. During lunch you can also grab a sandwich and soup.
After sweet introductions Mike, the biggest mad penguin of them all, took me and my fiancé perks of being Insta husband downstairs to explore his gelato kingdom behind the scenes. Laboratory would be more appropriate word to reflect how spotless, and full of the newest gelato equipment this place is.
Sweet madness does not stop there. Most of gelato flavours are not the one you can get in a supermarket. Goodbye boredom, hello tasty adventure! If you are around and have a spare minute use it wisely and go for one of unique flavours available only in Mad Penguin.

What was the most original flavour you had a chance to try? I am a classic girl loving pistachio but mulled wine gelato and watermelon are following very closely.
