Monthly Favourites | March

The first day of Spring is behind us and April is just round the corner. Hopefully it’ll come with a better weather selection than what we had in March! This also means that it is about time to share the products that quickly became my favourites.

The first day of Spring is behind us and April is just round the corner. Hopefully it’ll come with a better weather selection than what we had in March! This also means that it is about time to share the products that quickly became my favourites.Hands up, I can admit it that my 9-5 look can be quite conservative. Although my office has quite a relaxed business dress code I still tend to go for more formal patterns, textures, materials, and colours such as black, grey, and navy.

Still this little stunner in one of my favourite shades of blue just shouted out my name from the hanger in H&M a few weeks ago. I needed a work jackets and this one seemed like it was made especially for me. I am ready for spring in the office!

I no longer have a job where I stand for long periods of time however, a few times I've noticed that my legs are starting to be quite tired during the day. I am sure wearing high heels all day long did not help! But how could I finishing my look with anything else?

I know that tired legs are a sign that I have to help out my circulation or suffer in silence, which really that was never an option. Time to break a few stereotypes that some things are only for a certain age. Getting back to compression tights was a day saver! I would definitely recommend trying compression tights to anyone who has a job such as waitressing, nursing, or retail that requires a lot of standing and walking around.

I tried a few different brands but Scholl tights are my favourite by far. They keep their shape, colour, the compression is not too strong so they are comfortable, and they are easy to find them in bigger retailers.

Another perk? Often I am able to get them on offer, browse around before paying full price. I've bought mine in Tesco for £4.75. Few reviews on Boots’ website state that they’ve got their pair for free from Scholl. Definitely something to check out!

My relationship with Fitbit products was not great. I had a Fitbit Flex 1 tracker before from Amazon Black Friday deal but it stopped working within two months. You can see the bargain hunter theme reoccurring in this post, what can I say I love to travel and paying full price for everything else means I am one step further away from getting a ticket to an exciting place.

I still wanted a fitness tracker but I was postponing the research until one day my friend asked me if I want to borrow her old Fitbit Flex 1 to help me make up my mind. 'Sure', I thought mainly because I knew already that I am not moving anywhere near as much as I should be since I started to work full time 9 to 5.

'Maybe another thing telling me that I definitely need more movement will be the impulse to go for evening walks to top it up my step count’ and with that thought in mind I borrowed the Fitbit Flex.

Do you know what the funny thing about it is? It actually is motivating me. I was sceptical at first but seeing that on some days I do not even hit 3000 steps was shocking. My excuse that I am exercising and going for runs every now and then was out of the window.

Who was I kidding? My subtle weight gain was right there in front of me hiding the simple fact that I've stopped moving as much as I was when I was a student. I know, I know... What did I expect? I totally agree this is what one should expect. However, seeing in numbers how little I move really hit home and made me be more cautious to try and hit 10k steps a day. There are still days that I do not do that but I am definitely progressively moving more than I was. I can only see another impulse to walk more and it would be a very fluffy, loving, and four paws one!
